Have You Met? Passion Pit.

Passion Pit are a young Bostonian band now signed to the New York based Frenchkiss Records. The brainchild of Michael Angelakos, they have created a huge buzz with one of the best songs of 2008, "Sleepyhead." They recently release their 6-track EP entitled "Chunk of Change." From what I've read, the EP was recorded as pretty much a one-man operation. But don't expect a faint sound. Obscure gaelic folk samples, crunchy beats, heavy bass, and plenty of aching guitar all occupy the quick-playing record.  Handclaps. swirly synths and chipmunky vocals a plenty, this EP is a dance record in the best possible way.

Let's begin, shall we?

I'm gonna keep it simple...for now.

This is where I will share my: opinions, rants, music, reviews...whatever I want. It's a fucking blog. What did you expect?

I plan to do a lot of traveling this year. For those of you that no me, you know I lived in NYC>>Brooklyn>Greenpoint for the last little while and then got semi-deported.  Now, I am back in Canada. While I think it's a great place, I have hungry eyes. I need more than suburbia and the occasional good concert. I am an undiagnosed ADD (i guess I'm a self-diagnosed now), and I can't live in a city that requires a car to get anywhere. I hate driving that doesn't consist of the words "road" and "trip."

My University has been on strike since November 6, 2008. This is the worst thing that could ever happen to me. Why? It's not because I want to be in school like most people angry about the strike. It's because I don't want to be in school. And sitting around my bedroom all day alone with my thoughts is basically making me hate my current existence evermore.

Nevertheless, this blog is the result of my extreme boredom and my self-inflated sense that people might actually read this. And we all have a little voyeurism in us. So here's your vaguely distorted window into all things me.

Enjoy,
Danny
